Applause sounded throughout the Redan Crossing Library as ASU Dekalb heard the results from the 2013 Hearts of Fire scholarship fundraiser. All reporting dubbed it a success. New members Maxine Williams and Angela Arnold Ellington said, "It was my first time attending, and I had a great time."

The ASU Dekalb 2013 GAAHBSU experience began on Wednesday morning with a downpour! Along with the heavy rain, the lack of parking, and massive construction made it difficult for some to get to the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. Some gave up and simply went to the site of GAAHBSU, while others did show up.

The Chapter is participating in the 2013 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Monday, January 21. It's not Stone Mountain this year, but rather it starts at Ray of Hope Church on Highway 155 in Decatur.
