Major kudos to the Albany State University National Alumni Association Chapter of the Year-Gold! The honor was recently bestowed upon the Chapter at the recently held Annual Planning Conference of the Albany State University National Alumni Association.
During Saturday's meeting, the Chapter also applauded individual winners Ruby Crews-A Past to Cherish Honoree; TaKeshia Thomas-Alumnus of the Year; Tamara Nelson-Leadership; Maria Boynton-Community Service; LaVerne Campbell-Fundraising; and Neva Jones-Member Recruiter. ASU Dekalb Chapter President Nelson says, "It really felt great to have everyone stand and applaud themselves for their hard work! We are off to a great start this year! We have set a record. 50% of our members have already renewed their membership early in the fiscal year. I believe this is a reflection in confidence in the Chapter's goals and direction."
We also applauded Angelo Taylor for his medal wins at the 2012 London Olympics.

TAILGATING: Barbara Wimberly is the Chair of the Tailgating Committee. ASU Dekalb will set up its championship tailgate on Saturday, October 6 (7pm) in Macon Ga and on Saturday, October 13 at the Morehouse game in Atlanta. Barbara is already soliciting for the items we'll need. Please contact Barbara at kjwimb@bellsouth.net to let her know what you can contribute. It's back-to-back tailgates, and we have to be ready!!
